Banbury Shed goes virtual
Banbury Shed goes virtual Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019, Banbury Community Shed has maintained connections amongst our shed community with weekly Shedinars. These online Zoom sessions are promoted to shed members but actually we welcome anyone to join. They are an opportunity to break the social isolation that can come from the lockdown and shielding restrictions we have all been experiencing this past year.
Each week, members share what they have been up to, maybe a project they have been working on, or a problem that have with an item that needs repair. It also provides an opportunity to just have a chat about what’s going on in our lives beyond Sheds.
Towards the end of last year, we enhanced the Shedinars with a bi-weekly theme to encourage new speakers and guests to join. The concept has proved very popular and has allowed us to even recruit new members, even whilst we cannot actually meet. So far we have run sessions on woodwork, metalwork, clocks, Christmas gifts from scrap, and appliance repairs.
