About Banbury Shed
Banbury Shed is a welcoming community workshop where people can share practical skills, collaborate on projects, and enjoy good company. We are part of the Men’s Shed movement — open to everyone who wants to learn, make, and connect.
Although we are part of the Men’s Shed movement we are deliberately not exclusive to men — all are welcome, but for insurance reasons you have to be an adult.
Whether you are interested in woodworking, electronics, upcycling, or simply want a cup of tea and a chat, you are welcome here. No experience is necessary — just curiosity and enthusiasm.
We meet nearly every Saturday morning at 09:30 at People’s Park, Banbury — check the notice at the top of this page for our next meeting date. New members are always welcome, just turn up!
We operate from the Long Shed in People’s Park in Banbury thanks to the generosity of Banbury Town Council. We are very grateful for their kind support.

Frequently Asked Questions
What tools do you have?
We have lots of tools and equipment for woodworking, metalworking and electronics projects. These include:
- Woodworking lathes
- Pillar drill
- Small metalworking lathe
- Hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, saws, chisels, files etc.)
- Fasteners: screws, nuts, bolts, rivets etc.
- Bandsaws
- Chop saws
Can you teach me how to use the tools?
Of course! We are a sharing environment. Also, if you have any skills, we’d love to learn from you.
Can I bring children along?
Unfortunately due to insurance reasons we only admit adults into the shed.
Are there any tools you don’t have?
For insurance reasons we are not able to use:
- Table saws
- Welding equipment
- Anything involving a naked flame or fire
How much does it cost?
Most of our full time members pay £10 per month via standing order to our bank account. Alternatively you can pay £5 per session. These subs are entirely optional and on the basis of your ability to pay.
